Sales Associate/Visual Merchandiser

Overview

The Cozy Home is a retail furniture and décor consignment store. This position is physical and fast paced which requires the ability to move furniture with help or using a variety of assistive tools when possible. Knowledge of furniture and decor materials (woods, fabrics, glass, ceramic) and modern and historic styles is a plus, but training will be provided. We love to train and see our student employees grow into proficiency in all of these areas:

Duties 

• Measure, price and inventory incoming merchandise
• Clean the store and inventory
• Move furniture within the store and to customer vehicles
• Arrange visually pleasing displays
• Assist customers finding specific styles or sizes of furnishings
• Offer customers design opinions when requested
• Responses to customers via email, Facebook, Instagram, and phone calls

Requirements

• Strong customer service skills/Comfortable speaking with Customers.
• Willingness to do the work at hand
• Sales skills
• Visual merchandising skills
• Knowledge of furniture styles a plus
• Ability to lift at least 50 lbs. or more
• Reliable transportation
• Basic administrative abilities (making copies, handwriting, basic computer skills)
• Reasonable command of writing/spelling for digital communications with customers

Job Type: Part-time

Pay: $12-$17/hr. dependent on experience and position

Available Shifts:  Monona – Part Time: Sunday – Thursday 10-2, afternoons and weekends ; Middleton – Part Time 2 shifts per week 10 – 5

We are seeking dedicated and reliable Movers to join our team. As a Mover, you will play a crucial role in ensuring the safe and efficient transportation of goods. This position requires physical stamina, attention to detail, and a commitment to providing excellent customer service. What You’ll Do:

Duties:

• Load and unload furniture and other items from trucks or vans with care.
• Collaborate with the Staging Coordinator on jobs and schedule
• Drive moving vehicles along designated routes to deliver goods safely and on time.
• Assemble and disassemble furniture when necessary for transport
• Pick up and deliver furnishings between our stores, warehouse and customers
• Ensure that all items are secured properly for transport to prevent damage.
• Maintain cleanliness and organization of the warehouse and moving vehicles.
• Collaborate with team members to ensure efficient operations and customer satisfaction.
• Commit to safe lifting techniques and use of assistive tools to minimize risk whenever possible
• Perform other job-related duties as assigned by management

Requirements

• Previous experience in moving, delivery driving, or warehouse operations is preferred.
• Ability to perform heavy lifting (up to 50 pounds) consistently throughout the workday.
• Valid driver’s license with a clean driving record
• Familiarity with route driving and navigation skills for efficient delivery.
• Strong communication skills and ability to work well within a team environment.
• Attention to detail and commitment to safety protocols while handling items.
• Flexibility to work varying shifts with loyalty to show up on the days you are needed

This job starts around 9 in the morning and goes as long as we have work lined up. We can be somewhat flexible with this window for the right employee. Movers are responsible for loading and unloading a truck primarily. When you are not riding in the truck, you will be moving items from one place to the next, sometimes solo and most of the time, with help.

Home Décor and Furniture Cleaner

We are looking for a dependable part-time person to unpack, wash, sort and repack small household items and décor.  They will also clean furniture. The position is 10 to 12 hours per week with flexible scheduling. The location for this work is Sun Prairie.

Responsibilities

• Carefully unpack boxes of household items, clean, sort and repack them
• Inspect and clean used furniture – wash, vacuum, etc.
• Occasionally launder soiled linens in on-site laundry. Dry and press them if necessary
• Write lists of furniture items and label furniture items
• Other responsibilities as required or requested

Skills & Abilities

• Ability to lift at least 30 lbs.
• Must have a valid driver’s license with no restrictions
• Must have reliable transportation
• Must be able to stand for several hours at a time while hand-washing items
• Must be careful with items as many are fragile
• Ability to read a tape measure
• Must be neat and tidy and keep personal workspace clean
• Must have good eyesight and be able to see dirt, grease, cracks, previous repairs, chips, stains, damage, signatures, etc.
• Ability to work independently and be reliable dependable
• Knowledge of décor and furniture is a plus
• Being handy is a plus

Pay: $15 – 16 per hour with some benefits

Dispatcher

We are looking for a dependable dispatcher for our thriving Used Furniture and Home Staging business in Madison, WI. The delivery work week is Monday thru Friday. Prepare the next work day’s delivery schedule by 3 pm. This position is part-time and reports to the General Manager.

Responsibilities

• Work with customers on store deliveries and pick-ups, consignors on pick-ups, and store and staging staff for deliveries and pick-ups
• Reply to e-mail and text messages in a timely fashion, at times outside the business work day window
• Evaluate each dispatch request before committing to the schedule
• Take calls and emails to coordinate dispatch stops
• Create a “Daily Mover’s Schedule” e-mail with all of the details required to ensure a timely and accurate dispatch for the day
• Schedule pick up of furnishings and dispatch the in-house moving team(s)
• Create efficient daily area traces or routes
• Determine where the furnishings will be delivered based on the needs of the business outlets
• Take note of payments needed and ensure they are made
• Resolve issues
• Work closely with Owners, Staging Coordinator, Operations Coordinator, Warehouse and Retail management to schedule incoming and outgoing deliveries
• Schedule the movers
• Other responsibilities as requested or required

Job Type: Daily Monday – Friday; Part-time; 10-15 hours per week.

Pay: $16.00 to $18.00 per hour dependent on experience
